Bengaluru News Live Updates: Tamil Nadu Water Resources Minister Duraimurugan on Wednesday called on Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat in New Delhi and requested him to take steps for release of Cauvery water by Karnataka. This meeting comes amid Karnataka’s assertion to construct a dam across the inter-state river at Mekedatu. Speaking to reporters in Delhi, Duraimurugan said Tamil Nadu was entitled to receive 12.213 tmc (thousand million cubic) ft of water for the month of June and has only received 2.993 tmc ft leaving a deficit of 9.220 tmc ft

Three deaths were reported in rain-related incidents in coastal Karnataka over the last two days.

The Karnataka High Court has denied bail to Faraz Pasha, one of the accused in the murder of Bajrang Dal worker Harsha Nagaraj alias Harsha Hindu in Shivamogga in February last year. The order was passed on June 26 by a bench of Justices Sreenivas Harish Kumar and G Basavaraja.
